The “year(s) of sacrifice” is over for The Fabulous Beekman Boys! On the season finale of last night’s The Amazing Race, Josh Kilmer-Purcell and partner (now fiancé) Dr. Brent Ridge ran to the winner’s circle, much to the astonishment of pretty much everyone on set and at home watching. These two country gentlemen competed with grace and kindness even when faced with some pretty harsh treatment from other players. In the end, nice finished first with a kiss and hug, tons of applause, and a million dollar check, which is the exact amount needed to end years of living apart.
For the past five years, Josh has spent most of his time in New York City, working in advertising while Brent was on the farm in Sharon Springs, New York. Weekends were pretty much the only time the couple had to spend together and most of that time went to maintaining the farm and the Beekman 1802 product line. Now they will be able to both be on the farm full time and focus on their business and even some wedding plans!
I have been a huge fan of The Fabulous Beekman Boys since I first saw their show on Planet Green and now on The Cooking Channel. Their cheese, Beekman Blaak, is a personal favorite as well as the addicting Cajeta goat milk caramel sauces. Hopefully, we will be seeing even more fabulous things from this dynamic duo in the future. Be sure to check out their gracious “Thank You Letter” here.
Congratulations Josh and Brent! This could not have happened to two more deserving guys. Stay Cheesy!
