For an ice cream shop that has a parental advisory, The Icecreamists shop near Covent Garden in London seems to have gone baby. Baby Gaga breast milk ice cream, to be exact. Unfortunately for those brave enough to try it, the Westminster council pulled the
nipple plug on the controversial confection mere hours after it hit the ice cream case.
With concerns of contaminants, Brian Connell, Westminster’s cabinet member for business sent officers from the Health Protection Agency and Food Standards Agency to The Icecreamists shop and removed the curious concoction. Connell says “Selling foodstuffs made from another person’s bodily fluids can lead to viruses being passed on and in this case, potentially hepatitis.”
Icecreamists founder Matt O’Connor insists the donor was fully screened prior to accepting the breast milk and it is pasteurized for safety.
Thanks for the tip Chris
